CELLULAR TYPE DRIFT ELIMINATOR

BWCD

BWCD Cellular Drift Eliminator

BWCD drift eliminators are made for applications that demand low levels of drift and little airside pressure drop, which results in lower fan horsepower requirements. They have a drift loss of 0.003% and are constructed from corrugated, UV-protected PVC sheets. The addition of flat stiffener sheets that are glued to the corrugated sheets allows for the adjustment of pack stiffness.

The efficiency of a drift eliminator relies on the captured drift droplets forming a thin film of water on the drift eliminator surface so that the water drains back into the wet section of the cooling tower properly. Any beads of water on the surface are exposed to the air stream and are susceptible to being stripped off the drift eliminator and exiting the tower

Efficiency

Drift eliminator modules nest with neighboring modules, preventing spaces between packs and enabling seamless drift removal.

Installation

BWCD drift eliminators have the ability to span, requiring fewer supports to reduce air obstruction. Without compromising structural integrity, they can also be field-cut for tight fits.

Material

The drift modules must be made of UV-protected, stiff, corrugated PVC sheets that are good for cooling water. The drift modules must be able to withstand the usual acids and alkalis found in cooling towers.
